The Free Psychotherapy Network are offering online groups for people living in the UK who are isolated during this coronavirus crisis. Our network particularly reaches out to people who have few resources or opportunities for support, conversation and connectedness during this uncertain and frightening time.
The idea of the group is to create a safe place to share our experience of living with the COVID19 crisis and to talk to others about our personal circumstances and how we are feeling. At least two FPN therapists will be hosting but it will be a facilitated support group, not a therapy group. We will be wanting to listen and encourage people to share experiences and support each other.
Initially we plan to facilitate one group using Zoom free online conferencing software – https://zoom.us. The group will meet weekly on Saturday mornings between 11am and 12.30pm. We see this as a pilot towards gradually increasing the number of groups we can offer. We will limit the number of members of each group to 10 to keep it workable.
Joining the support group
The first group will meet on Saturday 28th March at 11am.
If you are interested in joining us, let us know by Friday midday by emailing us at email@example.com We will get back to you to let you know you have a place or to say the group is full. If there is a place, we’ll email you the link that allows you to join the group at 11am on Saturday. We will also give you some information about joining the Zoom platform and some guidelines for its use as a group meeting space. We can also give you one-to-one support to help you get Zoom set up.
If the group is full we will ask you if you want to join a waiting list for a future group.
If you have a place and find you can’t make it, we will ask you to let us know so we can give the place to someone else.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for queries and more information.
